Socioeconomic position as a risk factor for BPA exposure in a sample of Egyptian children

Abstract

Bisphenol A is an endocrine-disrupting chemical that is supposed to interfere with hormone action and thereby contributes to disease and disability. Understanding environmental exposure profiles may help to protect vulnerable populations. Objective: To estimate the potential variability in concentrations of urinary BPA in a sample of Egyptian children and adolescents from different socioeconomic levels Methods: A cross-sectional study included 167 children aged 2-18 years old of both sexes.
