Abstract

Objective: To analyze the knowledge level of pharmacist intervened and non intervened diabetic patients regarding their disease.
Methodology: This descriptive cross sectional study was conducted at Civil Hospital, Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan from January 3, 2017 to March 5, 2017. Intervened subjects were counseled regarding diabetes. A well developed questionnaire was distributed among the patients at Hospital. The sample was chosen by using random sample technique.
Results: Out of 160 patients, 90% intervened were knowing that proper diet can control diabetes mellitus while only 18.75% non intervened were knowing this. About 87.5% intervened patients were familiar that little sugar intake is 1st aid step in hypoglycemia while the only 43.7% non intervened were knowing this.
Conclusion: The patients who were intervened by the pharmacist were having more knowledge regarding their disease as compared to non intervened patients.
