Association of oligohydramnios with poor Apgar score during third trimester of pregnancy.

Objective: To assess the association of poor Apgar score in patients having oligohydramnios during the third trimester of pregnancy.
Methodology: This Cohort study was done at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Imran Idrees Teaching Hospital, Sialkot Medical College, Sialkot, from 1st June 2024 to 30th November 2024. A total of 230 patients were enrolled. Patients were divided into two groups i.e., the exposed group and the unexposed group and were followed up till delivery. Mode of delivery and Apgar score of neonates at the time of delivery were noted. If Apgar score was 1 was considered significant.
Results: The mean age of females in the low amniotic fluid index (AFI) group was 27.81±5.69 years and in the normal AFI group was 29.50±6.68 years. The mean Apgar score after 5 minutes of delivery was 7.14±1.52 in the low AFI group, while 7.63±1.19 in the normal AFI group (p
