DENGUE FEVER

Abstract

Minor cases of dengue fever are characterized by high fever, rashes, and pain in the joints and muscles. Every year, dengue fever affects millions of individuals throughout the world.Dengue fever is a disease that is transferred via the bite of a striped Aedes aegypti mosquito, which is carrying the dengue virus.Prevention and control of dengue, DHF has become urgent with expanding geographic distribution and increase incidence in the past 20 years. Effective disease prevention programme must have several integrated components, including active laboratory based surveillance, emergency, response, education of medical community to ensure effective case management community based integrated mosquito control and effective use of vaccines when they become available.
