Abstract

Brachial plexopathies are common after median sternotomies and vary from those causing minor symptoms to

the ones producing major disability. We describe two patients who developed symptoms consistent with brachial

plexopathy after coronary artery bypass surgery and treated with lidocaine and triamcinolone acetonide by

interscalen brachial plexus block.

Key words: Brachial Plexopathy, Corticosteroids, Brachial Plexus Block.
