Selda Tekiner, Gülsen Ceyhun Peker, Filiz Ak, Zehra Dağlı, Serpil İnan, Atıl Çakmak.

Infections of the esophagus are important complications of immune deficiencies but are unusual in immunocompetent persons. When fungal esophagitis has been found in immunocompetent host, predisposing conditions have often been identified. We herein report a case of a 39 years of immunocompetent woman who had developed candida esophagitis without any predisposing factors. In this case report we wanted to draw attention to the occurence of candida esophagitis in apparently immune competent individuals.

Key words: Candida, esophagitis, immune competent
