Investigation of Compatibility of Indirect Hemagglutination Test with Radiological Imaging Methods in the Diagnosis and Follow-up of Patients with Cystic Echinococcosis

Abstract

Objective: In addition to clinical findings, the main methods used in the diagnosis of cystic echinococcosis (CE) are imaging methods and serological tests. It was aimed to investigate the correlation between the indirect hemagglutination (IHA) test, radiological imaging method and cyst types of patients who had been referred to Ankara University Faculty of Medicine Parasitology Laboratory with the suspicion of cystic echinococcosis between January 2019 and December 2022.
Material and Methods: Serum samples were studied with two different kits due to availibility. The clinical information of patients and ethical approval (2022/378) were obtained. Cohen's kappa statistics and ANOVA were used for statistical examination.
