The preventive geriatric assessment is an approach, which covers the geriatric assessment of elderlies in family practice. Even the essence is an evidence-based screening approach, it covers interventions to improve wellness and quality of life of elderly people. Data retrieved from these examinations will help to develop a care plan in healthy individuals and patients. It could help present manageable conditions for family practice or could provide additional information for consultation or referral procedures. It is the basics of an individualist preventive health program. Because the performance of comprehensive geriatric assessment is time-consuming, it is performed in-patient or in several subsequent steps. Due to room and time constraints in family practice, a need for shorter comprehensive geriatric assessment instrument, which is considering preventive measures is evolving.
