Large Congenital Melanocytic Nevus associated with the Dandy-Walker Complex: A case report

Mohammad Moazi Rwalah.

Abstract

We report a neonate delivered with large melanocytic nevus covering the lumbosacral area and buttocks and multiple small nevi on the back, right shoulder and thighs. The patient also had glandular hypospadias. Computed tomography of the brain showed dilatation of the subarachnoid space in the posterior fossa confirming the diagnosis of Dandy-Walker malformation with areas of hyperattenuation in the brain tissue which might represent melanocytic foci. (Rawal Med J 2001;36:326-327).

Key words: Neurocutaneous melanosis, Dandy–Walker complex, Cutaneous navi.
