Role of flap fixation in reducing seroma formation in patients undergoing mrm in a tertiary care hospital of Pakistan

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of flap anchoring in preventing seroma formation in patients of breast carcinoma managed by modified radical mastectomy.
Methodology: This study was carried out at department of surgery, JPMC, Karachi from Ist November 2020 to Ist November 2021. A total of 95 patients were included in the study. Non-probability consecutive sampling was used. All patients underwent modified radical mastectomy and the flap fixation using absorbable sutures to reduce the dead space. Data were analysed by SPSS 21.
