The aim of the present study evaluate psychometric properties of the Social Appearance Anxiety Scale for Adolescents (SAAS-A) in Turkish sample. The psychometric properties of SAAS-A were examined ona sample of 453 (235 girls, 218 boys) adolescents between 12-15 years of age. In order to determine the construct validity of SAAS-A, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis was conducted. The factor analysis resulted in factors. Social Anxiety Scale for Adolescents (SAS-A) was used for the criterion validity. It was found positive and high correlations between SAAS-A and SAS-A. The Cronbachs alpha for the SAAS-A was .91 and the computed test re-test reliability coefficient was .80. These findings demonstrate that the validity and the reliability of SAAS-A were satisfactory for the Turkish elementary school sample.
