Objective: To find the fall risk among healthy geriatric community through Berg Balance Scale in our community.
Methodology: This cross-sectional study with non-probability convenient sampling technique was conducted from April to September 2018 among 100 healthy individuals with age ranges from 40-60 years from parks and gymnasium of Lahore, Pakistan. All persons having any disability, vision or hearing problem, recent trauma and with any neurological disorders were excluded from study. Persons score between 0-20 placed in high fall risk category, persons with 21-40 score placed in medium fall risk category and persons having 41-56 score placed in low fall risk category. Data was calculated through Berg Balance Scale which was used to measure balance or fall risk.
Results: Out of 100 healthy geriatric community, 53(53%) were male and 47(47%) female with mean age was 52.84 years. There were (n=2) 2% with high fall risk, (n=18) 18% with medium fall risk and (n=80) 80% with low fall risk.
Conclusion: Most healthy geriatric community lie in low risk fall and some lie in medium risk fall only some persons have high risk fall.
